Self Awarded Accolades

So, one day I started a forum thread for requesting new accolades. Some people thought it was just a joke, but I really did want new accolades. I originally posted the thread into the forum Report a Problem or Suggest a New Feature because I was really suggesting a new feature for the site. However, HubPages moved my thread to The Sandpit quite promptly after it gained a lot of attention from our fellow Hubbers. I went on to say in the thread that I was not intending the thread to be a forum game, but was really requesting new features. However, I did not find it necessary to follow through on this issue by emailing HubPages.
I sat around and stared at my computer for 30 hours straight wondering why HubPages had not yet implemented my genius new idea onto their website. The benefits of making new accolades had been clearly pointed out by a number of different HP users. Everyone who posted in the thread agreed that my idea would have made the HubPages website even better; it also could have promoted world peace, increased the advancement of the human race, ended world hunger, etc (these were only a few of the benefits that my fellow Hubbers pointed in the thread, not nearly all of the benefits). Quite frankly, I had no idea what was taking the good folk at HP so long to implement my idea and after sitting in front of the computer and not moving for 30 hours straight I gave up, I got hungry, and I went to the kitchen to eat.
While contemplating the universe over a slice of cake and a glass of milk, I decided it was time to take things into my own hands. I first thought it would be best to make myself some little accolade images and post them up in my profile with text next to them saying what the accolade was awarded for. I then discovered that I was unable to post pictures into my profile... bummer. I then decided I would have to make a Hub in order to award myself accolades, but yet again I struck a wall; Hubs allow for a picture to be posted only on the right side of the article but I needed a picture on the left side... What to do? Finally, I made an image file that was wide enough to not be stretched out much by the HubPages image auto-stretcher demon and I also included in the image file the text of what the accolade stood for.
So far I have only earned two self appointed accolades, but I hope I earn more in the future. Only time shall tell.

P.S. the fishcake award is only an estimate. I tried to go back and count how many fishcakes I plopped into the forums but I gave up after about 15 seconds.

I think that is a brilliant idea - and why not just write more hubs awarding ourselves accolades - and cake too! Cake or death? Cake please. (you of course know Eddy Izzard's routine about that) so please - feel free! I forget what accolades I would have awarded myself - one for "this hubber makes no sense" would be good and then there was the "on and on and on and on accolade" (this hubber goes to the forums and won't shut up!) Brilliant rbe0!
I like the idea of more accolades, as I feel rewarded. But I suppose they're only there for fanciness really, and HubPages want you to work hard to "earn" them. I'm not saying that they're hard enough, but getting a new one feels great!

I don't know what your issue is with how hubpages works, but I sense a great deal of sarcasm coming from your direction thus far, good luck on this method of approach as to trying to change such a great system as hubpages, but it might not get you very far in doing so.
I've seen many peoples accounts simply vanish without much notice or reason, and hopefully your on the correct pathway here. Good Luck bro for whatever its worth, its a very cynical hub you wrote here.
My only guess is that you have had a previous history here, and have developed some sort of vendetta with the system in place here, but that's besides the point, I wish you the best in what ever you en-devour to do. Welcome to hubpages I guess, or should I say welcome back. Not sure which one I should choose :)
@CloudExplorer - I don't think he was meant to be sarcastic, but rather serious. I think the whole point of this Hub was just to ask "Why has HubPages not considered more accolades"?
I don't know how many there are, but I know they're hard to earn. I suppose it's good that they're like that because it makes you stay for longer, instead of getting awards for no apparent reason. ^^
An award shouldn't be too easy to earn or it isn't really an award. Christmas is once a year. How would you look forward to it if it were once a week? The excitement would not really be there after a few weeks. I think the idea of awards/ accolades was to give Hub writers a goal to work towards. Then the feeling of success only to work to move up to the next level. Other sites are using this too, but make it too easy sometimes. Look for posts about gamification. I like the accolades. I'm working to get my 100K for readers of my posts. I expect to get there around this time next year. Maybe I will; maybe I won't.

I too requested that there be more accolades in the reward program, but it seems that hubpages is content to staying the same in that department. Alhtough, it would make sense not to add any more accolades, because this is a writing site.
